Relevance. Many municipal wastewater treatment plants are
technically capable of receiving, processing, and treating larger volumes of wastewater and organic pollutants than are currently collected through the centralized sewerage system. It should be noted that some water users, and therefore potential wastewater suppliers, are not connected to the centralized sewerage system.
This type of customer group may include both industrial enterprises and households. In order to control them and protect the environment from accidental spills and pollution, it is necessary to collect their wastewater, properly account for it, and assess the contamination level of this wastewater.
In certain cases, for the wastewater treatment plant operator, receiving additional volumes of wastewater and organic pollutants can be beneficial not only financially, but also important for maintaining optimal wastewater treatment processes – ensuring the ratio of organic pollutants and nutrients, optimizing nitrogen removal or biogas production processes.
It should be noted that the SewaLux hauled wastewater reception station, with its functionality, fulfills all these main objectives – it receives wastewater, accounts for its flow rate, identifies the hauler, grinds screenings and, most importantly, can determine instantaneous wastewater parameters or take wastewater samples for detailed analysis – to assess wastewater contamination, protect treatment facilities from toxic shocks, and tariff pollution charges.
General information. The SewaLux wastewater reception station is a fully automated, comprehensive system designed for hauled wastewater reception, hauler identification, wastewater flow metering, sampling for quality analysis, and wastewater control based on pH, electrical conductivity, Redox potential, or temperature parameters.
To protect pipelines, sewerage networks, or pumps from mechanical damage and blockages, the system is equipped with a grit trap and grinder.
To prevent hydrogen sulfide formation in pipelines, a special agent can be dosed to bind hydrogen sulfide – thus avoiding unpleasant odors and the risk of corrosion.
If the customer wishes, additional sensors can be installed for instantaneous analysis of specific substances. The wastewater reception station is designed to receive and discharge into the sewerage network wastewater delivered by vacuum trucks.
This system can receive many types of wastewater – both various industrial wastewaters, such as from the food industry, catering establishments, or other industrial sectors, as well as domestic wastewater from individual households, companies, or industrial centers. Wastewater reception stations can be built near wastewater treatment plants or further away from the plants, so that the wastewater is distributed as evenly as possible in the overall wastewater flow and thus reduce the instantaneous contamination load on treatment facilities.
